Established over 25 years ago in the United Kingdom, The Sikh Helpline has developed itself to be a trusted point of contact for members of the community in dealing with a range of issues, especially those linked to cultural and social taboos. The Sikh Helpline is a free professional and confidential telephone counselling and email inquiry service, available 24 hour a day, 7 days a week.  

The Project

Media Genesis has worked with the Sikh Helpline for almost two decades. We have been the preferred web agency for all its web projects from the beginning and handle all ongoing updates to the site. The latest site redesign required a switch from the Joomla CMS to WordPress.

Objectives:

• Migrate hundreds of pages from Joomla to WordPress.
• Implement a fully responsive SEO-friendly website with a modern design.
• Improve overall site architecture and navigation to enable easier browsing and a better user experience.
• Organise content into categories and show them in a magazine format on the homepage
• Create landing pages for specific activities, such as the Charity Bike Ride.
• Redirect old URLs to corresponding URLs on the new website.
• Improve the loading speed of the website by optimizing the site and moving to Cloud hosting.

Support / Maintenance

Media Genesis provides the Sikh Helpline with a formalized post-launch support system for technical, creative and strategic services to keep the new website functional and performing well. This includes:
